I’ve featured lot’s of decorations and ideas for the holidays on the last few blogs and thought you would enjoy seeing a photo of our tree.
I think its pretty but nothing compared to the grand, double story, tree at the Hibernian Hall in downtown Charleston. Wow!
We met Bella, pictured here, at a party on Gibbes Street over the weekend. The little elf costume stayed on for all of three minutes.
This sweetie is Jerry who was hanging out with the guys at the Hibernian Hall.

I know-you must think I’m crazy. The suggestion to add fur to your décor may seem ridiculous when you have furry children. Since we have two dogs and two cats shedding fur in copious amounts, I often think of setting up a loom and knitting some sweaters with the hopes that pet fur apparel may be the next new fashion trend. But seriously….faux fur can be a marvelous decorative accent.
Just look at these wonderful throw pillows
And who wouldn’t want to cuddle up on a chilly night with this coyote faux fur throw
And don’t forget about an area rug in a faux lamb dark chocolate.
Bonus: It’s great camouflage for dog fur!

Welcome! Hampton and I our pleased to launch our Black Dog Design Blog. We want to share our thoughts on interior design, entertaining, food, and general Charleston living.
What could be more fitting then to kick things off with a feature on designer dog beds! All dog owmers have them-those dirty, hideous look pillows lying about that we think our dogs should lie on. Of course, since most dogs consider themselves far superior they would prefer to lounge on the sofa or better yet your bed.
Why not treat them like the King and Queens they think they are with this fabulous creation:
Handpainted with paws and dancing dog bones this bed would make a statement in any decor!
I know Mr. H would enjoy snoozing away on this:
Mahogany wood with a big fluffy cushion-Dog Heaven!
And this one is certainly fit for a princess:
But seriously, a comfy floor pillow may be all you need to keep them off the sofa-just don’t forget the monogram!
